Want to feel more confident and in control of your job search? Here are five ways you can prepare for your job search right now, no matter where you are in your journey:
☑️𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 - Update your most recent experience and tailor it to reflect the kind of role you want next.
☑️𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - Start with common ones like “Tell me about yourself” and “What are your strengths?” Record yourself or ask a friend to role-play.
☑️𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - Google yourself. Update your LinkedIn. Make sure your public-facing profiles reflect the professional image you want to present.
☑️𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 - Pick 5–10 organizations you’d love to work for and start following them on LinkedIn. See what roles they post and who works there.
☑️𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 - Reach out to someone in your network (or a new connection) and ask for a 15-minute conversation to learn more about their work or industry.
