Career Changer

"I’m not the type to write reviews normally but in this case, I felt it was necessary. I was looking to make a career change after 25 years of owning my own business.  I had no idea how to start this process.  I was referred to Karen Sharp of Sharp Human Resources by a friend and made the call.  I was unsure of what career I was looking for; I just knew I was desperate to make the change.  Upon meeting Karen and giving her a brief synopsis of my situation, she connected me with a job interview that very day!  I’d love to say it was that easy and I took that job, but I didn’t. What it did show me was that what I had imagined was impossible was not.  We worked together on honing my resume and connecting me with people to talk to who had made a similar transition.  This further instilled the belief that what I was trying to accomplish was achievable.  Karen was instrumental early on in my process.  She helped to keep me focused and on task.  She connected me with valuable resources which I had never heard of or knew were available.  I would recommend her services to anyone looking to make a career change or looking for that first job.  I will be forever grateful for her mentorship."

Change in Job

"After working on the job for 15 years, I consider myself an expert in my field.  However, after the company I worked for folded and I had to start looking for a new job, I was lost.  15 years is a long time to be out of the job hunting game and I tried my best at it for about a month before feeling defeated.
I contacted Sharp Human Resources.  They not only simplified my resume and gave me a job search strategy, but they also gave me new contacts and an new found enthusiasm to get back into the hunt. Before having their help I posted to dozens of places with no reply.  After their help, I applied to only 5 places and already received 2 interviews within a couple days of applying.
My only regret is that I didn't contact them sooner - would've saved myself a month of time!  If I am ever in trouble with the job hunt again, I know who to call."

Reentry into Workforce

"After being out of the workforce for over 17 years after I had my children, I had no idea where to even
start when I wanted to rejoin. I was fortunate enough to have found Karen and Sharp Human Resources at one of the most overwhelming periods of my life. Immediately, Karen put my mind at ease with her insight and knowledge. She gave me tasks which helped me figure out what my strengths were and what type of position I’d not only be best suited for, but would actually enjoy.  With her solid hiring and human resource experience, my resume was looking polished and highlighted the important things.
Karen’s advice on how to approach job hunting and interviews was exactly what I needed and gave me the confidence that I did not have after such a long absence. Not only did I get a job offer (which I accepted), she talked me through the process of how to best advocate for myself when accepting. There’s a saying that “you can’t know what you don’t know.” But Karen DOES know and she’s ready to share it with you. Her expertise has been invaluable. Thank you, Karen!"

Recent Grad

"Karen was extremely helpful in my job search and genuinely cares about her clients. Being a recent graduate, I felt overwhelmed trying to get my footing in the career world, and Karen was there every step of the way. Not only did she help me write a great resume and LinkedIn profile, she helped me focus my job search so the opportunities I went for were ones that I felt passionate about and matched my skill set. She also put me in contact with professionals working in fields that interested me, so I could see if they would be the right fit for me. With her help, I landed a new job in a field I have dreamt about for years! I highly recommend Karen and can't thank her enough!"
